Come and learn about new varieties, gardening trends, labor saving secrets of successful gardeners, how to determine how much to plant, weed control, watering, pests to watch out for and how to tell when to harvest your produce. Speaker:Gary L. Heilig,Horticulture Educator for MSU Extension in Ingham County. Gary is a graduate of Michigan State University and is a specialist in fruit and vegetable production. He has more than 30 years experience gardening and working for MSU. The event is FREE and open to the public! Taking care of a loved one who needs special care can be stressful. Recognizing the seriousness of this situation, WellsBrooke Premium Home Health Care is hosting their third annual Caregiver Retreat. Lansing area businesses have collaborated to offer family caregivers a chance to relax, restore and rejuvenate. This free event includes musical entertainment, breakfast, lunch, door prizes, massages, manicures, exhibits of area resources, helpful seminars and much more, with a focus on giving overworked, stressed caregivers a chance to relax and learn, even if just for the day. Are you tired of the same Easter events year after year? Lansing Parks and Recreation wants you to try this event for a challenge. When the sun goes down, the fun begins! Plenty of prizes and games! Each participant needs to bring a flashlight (size limited to 2 D cell batteries) and wear appropriate clothing for the weather. The event will be held at Gier Softball Fields for ages 4 - 10.
